Perfect Plain Brewing Company is an appropriate tribute to Pensacola’s rich history. The term “perfect plain” was coined by First Lady Rachel Jackson in her description of Pensacola, which is inscribed on the brick walls of this laidback brewery. Located on Garden Street in downtown Pensacola, Perfect Plain has made waves in the beer community since opening in 2017 with regular, innovative new releases and fun events. Walk through to the back of the brewery and you’ll find the colorful, outdoor hangout spot, Garden & Grain, which offers an eclectic selection of delicious craft cocktails.

Downtown Pensacola’s newest addition to the brewery scene, The 5 Barrel is inspired by the prohibition era and a family history of bootlegging. Once you enter The 5 Barrel, you’ll encounter a sea of time-worn memorabilia and custom fire-branded wood chairs. But what sets this brewery apart is its innovative staple brews like the Tommy Gun Cream Ale and the Shillelagh Irish Red as well as their hard-to-find central and South Florida craft beers on the guest taps. The idyllic location also provides a great view of Historic Pensacola, with a comfortable, covered seating area out front. Grab a pint and enjoy the beautiful surroundings while gazing at the historic Old Christ Church and the natural splendor of Seville Square Park.

Here you’ll find interesting beer styles that each tell a fascinating story, tying back to the land that inspired them. Located just off Palafox Street in downtown Pensacola, Big Top Brewing is a craft beer and food pub that originated in Sarasota and subsequently expanded north to Gainesville and Pensacola. Popular releases include the Mango Milkshake IPA and the Raspberry Chocolate Lava Cake Imperial Stout. This hidden spot also features regular events and popular local food trucks. The biergarten space itself is the perfect little retreat in which to enjoy a few pints.
