White sand beaches and rolling dunes covered with sea oats make this Perdido Key State Park a favorite destination for swimmers and sunbathers. Visitor activities include birding, fishing, surfing, shelling, swimming or picnicking with family and friends in the 290-acre state park.
Surf fishing is a popular activity and welcomes anglers of all skill levels. Boardwalks from the parking lot allow visitors to access the beach without causing damage to the fragile dunes and beach vegetation. Covered picnic tables overlooking the beach provide a great place for family outings.
The park is home to several threatened and endangered species, such as the Perdido Key Beach Mouse, nesting shorebirds and nesting sea turtles.
Traveler Tips: Fees are $3 per vehicle. Don't forget to check weather conditions and wear sun protection while you're enjoying this slice of paradise.
